difference between digital and optical zoom

optical zoom works just as a zoom lens on a film camera. the lens changes focal lenghth and magnification as it is zoomed. digital zoom simply crops the image to a smaller size, then enlarges the cropped part to fit the frame.

define megapixal

megapixlas are equal to one million pixals. pixlals are the little squares that make up the image.
